About Joris
Joris joined the bol management team as Chief Platform Officer in September 2021. Since 2022, he has focused on bol's fast-growing Advertising business. This is the business unit that provides marketing services to partners and media agencies under the name bol Retail Media, so that partners can increase their visibility to consumers and thus their sales. In 2024, his role has been expanded to include responsibility for New Business: testing and developing new revenue models for bol. As of July 2025, he will take on the role of Chief Product Officer on an interim basis.
Joris started at bol in 2016 and held various management positions before his appointment as director, including Director Shopping Experience, Director Retail & Data and Director Platform Business Models. In these positions, he played a crucial role in bol's transformation from an online retailer to an e-commerce platform and in the further development of data-driven work within bol and in the relationship with partners.
Joris has 3 adult children and lives with his wife on the edge of the dunes. In his spare time, he is an enthusiastic skater in the winter; in the summer he is on his racing bike or in a sailing boat on the Frisian lakes.
Joris has always worked on strengthening companies, with an analytical approach. Before bol he worked in private equity at ABN AMRO, in strategy consulting at Boston Consulting Group and did consulting and interim management for mid-market companies with his partners in his own company for many years.
Joris has a PhD in (mathematical) economics, Tilburg University, and an MSc in Econometrics from the University of Groningen.
